Located between Guéthary and Biarritz, Bidart is the village that connects them. The Kaliko restaurant is situated there on the banks of the Uhabia River: it offers home-style, seasonal cuisine, cooked over an open fire, served on the terrace or by the fireplace.
From Guéthary: 3 minutes by car, 5 minutes by bike along the greenway, about 10 minutes on foot. From Biarritz, it’s about 10 minutes by car. And unlike downtown areas in the summer, Kaliko has a private parking lot with 27 spaces, free for restaurant guests.
The chef creates his dishes using ingredients from local producers through direct-to-consumer channels. The menu changes with the seasons: Hinx foie gras terrine, fresh fish from the fish market, barbecued beef, and homemade desserts. On weekdays at lunchtime, there’s a daily special for €25 (except in summer); on Sundays, a set menu for €34, with a vegetarian option.
Breakfast starting at 8 a.m., specialty coffee and house-made chai lattes in the afternoon, and drinks and live music on select evenings. Children can enjoy the garden and its play area during meals.
A 3-minute drive, a 5-minute bike ride along the greenway, or about a 10-minute walk.
